after work, i headed up to cypress and went riding. i've always been pretty much a perfectionist, and that's why i've always why i've shyed away from team sports and gravitated more towards individual performance pursuits, like running, or hiking, etc. after two or three times down the mountain without falling, connecting my turns, i realized that i was feeling unsatisfied because i wasn't going fast enough, and i wasn't finessing my turns -- i realized that i actually had a frown on my face. i stopped, sat down on the snow, and said to myself "relax".

i took a deep breath of fresh air, removed my gloves, felt the snow, and enjoyed the solitude of just being there.
